PSF allows you to tweak your defense even more by setting Keys when defending the Run or choosing a receiver to Doubleteam if defending the pass.
Run Keys
When focusing on Run, your men can focus on Flow, Normal, or any back. Normal keys are best against misdirection plays (traps, draws, reverses, counters), while keying on Flow works best against standard runs. Keying correctly on a back increases your chances of stopping him dramatically, but if you key on the wrong man, you’re worse off than if you hadn’t keyed at all.
Double-Teaming
In Man-to-Man coverage, your Weak Safety is “free” to roam. If you’re in Man coverage andĀ focusing on Pass and your Weak Safety isn’t already blitzing or covering a receiver, then he can double-team a receiver, which greatly increases your chances of breaking up the pass or even intercepting it … if you’re right.
Note, if the QB has high combined ratings for Read and Leadership, then he may look off that receiver and throw to someone else.
